Job Description:

A vacancy has arisen in the Credit Control Department of Irish Ferries, primarily within the Tourism team, but at times working within the Freight team also. The permanent position is based in the Credit Control Department, Head Office, Breakwater Road.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage the Credit Control process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts on assigned portfolio of accounts.

  • Contact customers via phone and email to follow up on overdue payments and resolve payment discrepancies.

  • Conduct thorough credit checks on new/existing customers and assess credit risk.

  • Maintain accurate records of customer accounts, payments and credit notes.

  • Issuing of invoices, statements and credit notes to customers using established guidelines, deadlines and procedures.

  • Prioritise and manage a challenging workload whilst maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction.

  • Liaison and communication with the Tourism Sales Team and the Freight sales teams.

  • Assist in ad-hoc duties as required.

The Candidate:

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Minimum 2 years prior experience in a credit control or related finance role.

  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.

  • Deadline focused with ability to prioritise tasks and possess sound numerical skills.

  • Flexible and multi-tasking ability to produce results.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

The key systems utilised are SAP, Freightengine®, BookIt and our Online Accounts Portal for customers. Experience in SAP is an advantage but not essential as training will be given on all systems.
